    The Green Bay Packers are set to host the team’s second annual “Green Bay Packers Coaching School” at Lambeau Field on Sunday, May 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    The complimentary coaching school has a curriculum exclusively designed for youth football coaches, and can accommodate a maximum of 300 coaches. The event will feature innovative classroom sessions in the Lambeau Field Atrium, as well as on-field football instruction from top local high school and youth football coaches in the Don Hutson Center.

Packers, Humana recognize Community Quarterback Award recipients at luncheon in Lambeau Field Atrium

The Green Bay Packers and Humana Inc. honored 10 Community Quarterback Award winners Tuesday, Nov. 19, and hosted the recipients at a luncheon in the Legends Club inside the Lambeau Field Atrium.
 
The recipients were recognized for their work in the community. Each Community Quarterback Award winner received a $4,000 grant for his/her non-profit group and two tickets to the Dec. 22 Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game where they will be recognized on the field. The winners will be seated in the new Festival Foods MVP Deck and their tickets will include food and beverage throughout the game.
 
“The Packers are proud to honor these inspiring role models,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. “Our community is a better place because of their dedication as volunteers for these important organizations.”
 
Funded by the Green Bay Packers, Green Bay Packers Foundation, NFL Foundation and Humana Inc., the Community Quarterback Award recognizes outstanding volunteers within the state of Wisconsin. Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations nominated outstanding volunteers who demonstrate leadership, dedication and a commitment to bettering their communities through volunteerism. The volunteers are not compensated for their services.
 
The award is presented by Humana Inc., which provided each winner with the tickets in the Festival Foods MVP Deck to the Dec. 22 Steelers game. In addition, Humana contributed $20,000, bringing the total amount awarded to $40,000.
 
“Community involvement is important to us because it’s central to a person’s sense of belonging and their overall well-being,” said Humana Segment Vice President Jerry Ganoni. “Humana supports the Community Quarterback Awards because we want to foster volunteerism and community engagement here in the Green Bay area and throughout the country.”
 
The winners of the 2013 Community Quarterback Awards and their affiliations are as follows:

  • Metropolitan Association of Builders (MBA) of Waukesha — The Women's Center, Waukesha
  • John Hager of De Pere — St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay
  • Paul Salmon of Appleton — Loaves & Fishes of the Fox Valley, Inc., Sherwood
  • Rachel Ley of Stevens Point — St. Michael's Foundation, Stevens Point
  • Lauren McLester-Davis of De Pere — First Book - Greater Green Bay, De Pere
