Former Packers Brockington, Lane to meet with fans this weekend

Posted Nov 1, 2012

Alumni at Packers Pro Shop Saturday, Tundra Tailgate Zone and Legends Club Sunday

Leading up to the Green Bay Packers game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Nov. 4, featured Packers alumni John Brockington and MacArthur Lane will be signing autographs and visiting with fans in the Packers Pro Shop on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

The Tundra Tailgate Zone will also feature Lane on gameday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., where he will be visiting with fans and signing autographs. More information on the Tundra Tailgate Zone can be found online at www.packers.com/gameday/tundra-tailgate-zone.html.

Also on Sunday, Brockington will be visiting with fans and signing autographs during that same time in the Legends Club on the Associated Bank Club Level, an area accessible to game attendees with suite or club seat tickets, as a guest of the ‘Alumni Meet and Greet.’

Brockington, a 6-1, 225-pound, first-round pick from Ohio State, burst into the NFL in 1971 as he rushed for 1,105 yards during his rookie campaign. Brockington was the Packers’ leading rusher from 1971-75 and in 1972, rushed for 1,027 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the club to a 10-4 record and the NFC Central Division championship. Brockington was the first running back in NFL history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons. He was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 1984.

Lane, an accomplished running back who played for three NFL teams over 11 seasons, had three very productive years in Green Bay from 1972-74, playing in 41 games and contributing 1,711 rushing yards, 855 receiving yards and 11 total touchdowns. In 1972 he racked up 821 rushing yards and 285 receiving yards, along with three touchdowns, to provide an awesome counterpunch to fellow running back John Brockington and help the Packers capture the NFC Central Division crown.

Both former Packers players will be introduced on Lambeau Field during pregame festivities.
